SigRed Vulnerability and You

A security alert from the experts at Locknet Managed IT

One of the worst vulnerabilities to surface in the tech space has reared its head this week, and your system could be at risk. It's so important, we wanted to make you immediately aware of this issue.

It's called SigRed, and it scored a 10 on the Common Vulnerability Scoring System, which means it could be a critical security issue for you and your business.

What is SigRed and am I at risk?

SigRed is a wormable (no human interaction needed), a critical vulnerability in the Windows DNS server that affects Windows Server versions 2003 to 2019. It can be triggered by a malicious DNS response and if exploited successfully, an attacker is granted Domain Administrator rights and is in a position to compromise your entire network.

If you have Windows Servers 2003 – 2019 on your network, there is a very high chance you are at risk.

How to protect yourself from SigRed

If you are a Locknet Managed IT Keysuite or Netxuspro client, rest assured, we have you covered. The patch was pushed to all servers and a reboot of your system (required to apply the patch) was performed for these customers last night (7/15/20).

We can help protect you from SigRed and other security risks
